  Our Most Recent Summer Trip
Hershey PA was the first stop
lots and lots of chocolate
Michelle got to make her own
and package it
on to Valley Forge
and a refreshing swim at the hotel in Philly
Momma got an email every night
lots of sights including this period garden
a main objective accomplished at the Liberty Bell Center
and a dinner at the floating restaurant
to celebrate Granddaddy\'s birthday
another LOVE sculpture in a park near City Hall
we visited the Franklin Institute
and got to dig for fossils
a night tour of Independence Hall was memorable
with the Liberty Bell visible from the second floor
we were lucky that our tour guide took us to the ballroom
and the city militia armory which few visitors get to see
The Academy of Natural Sciences had its BugFest
with games and lots of activities
We stopped at the Gettyburg Battlefield on the way home
and had a guide show us the important sites
Hawk Mountain was also on the itinerary
not many migrating hawks yet but great scenery
a couple of days at Oglebay Park resort on the way home
with its own museums - one with this mile marker from the old National Road

We went birding with Jay and Carol Soule
We visited the new World Birding Center on S Padre Is
and Salinono where we saw the usual assortment of Orioles
Lunch one day at Pepe's on the River
and saw a tour boat between us and Mexico
Beth joined the Red Hat Ladies for lunch
We got home before Easter and Bill took Michelle shopping
Got some school clothes while we were out
And the mandatory Converse shoes
