  Our Most Recent RV Rally
the drive to Minnesota State Fairgrounds begins
first night at Tin Cup Campground near Champaign, IL
2nd night at Country Roads RV Park in the Wisconsin Dells area
great parking spot on the Fairgrounds in St. Paul
Saturday night dinner out with Carolyn and John
Sunday night dinner for all the volunteer workers at the rally
we worked as volunteers at the computer help desk
flower garden by the Fairgrounds grandstand
free coffee and doughnuts every morning
Fire Safety seminar
youth programs
FMCA Board member parking in front of the grandstand
coach service was available
or there were over 400 new coaches for sale
tram service covered the whole venue
hundreds of vendors of RV supplies
entertainments with a few of the almost 2500 member coaches
daytime entertainments throughout the day
tours of Minneapolis and St Paul sights were offered
Digital TV converter seminar
Bill attended the Computer Chapter meeting
while Beth went to Red Hat Ladies tea
the Annual Meeting of FMCA on the last day
we stopped at Flying J for fuel on the way home
our coach engine died on the entrance drive of Tin Cup CG
and we had to be towed into our campsite
Monday morning we were towed again
Prairie Archway International in Champaign got it fixed

We were on the way after a long accident delay near home
We arrive at Anvil Camp Ground in Williamsburg
which is our first tour stop

and watch Lafayette review the troops
who fired muskets and cannons
Preparing to take an apprenticeship

After a wonderful meal at the Kings Arms Tavern
we helped with making bricks
The new apprentice saddler enjoys her reward
We stopped at Monticello on the way home
  Our Most Recent Winter Trip
on our way to Texas we visit at the prettiest rest area in the world
this is the entrance for men

even the picnic shelter supports are tiled
there is a Mexican War monument
our first Brewers Blackbird

we saw Green Jays all over the Valley
and a surprising number of Altamira Orioles
we made a side trip to Roma Bluffs among others

WCOARA started with nothing
according to the rules
9am sharp Sat generator set up by AC8AA and KA0AZS
and the rest of the stuff came in
and more
THE CHEF Dave W8QF brought in appliances and cooked
Beth AC8ET paid BARC a visit Sat afternoon
they had erected some mighty antennas
put up FEMA walls and brought in STUFF
BARC too started with nothing
according to the rules
just an empty shelter in an empty field
Fred W8LLY led the BARC effort
and did some contacting too
Operators like Dave KD8GCR
took advantage of the big antennas
Meanwhile KB8UEY was busy working at WCOARA
with Brad W8NCI logging the contacts
Delmar KC8ADU demoed using a battery charger as tester
while Ned N8OIF worked some stations
KA0AZS set up an APRS demo station
and had time to tell a guest what was going on
short naps and more contacting until the end at 2pm Sunday
